Hi! I’m Morrigan, a professional visual editor and non-professional design nerd, living in a circa 1780 farmhouse about an hour outside of New York City. I write mostly about interiors, gardens, travel and the aesthetics of daily life.

I studied dance and poetry in college before spending five years of my twenties riding a loaded touring bicycle halfway around the world, photographing and interviewing fellow millennials for a public art project.
When I returned to NYC I worked for magazines as a photographer and writer before being hired as a visual editor at The New York Times. I’ve worked in visual editing and creative direction ever since!
I’ve always loved beautiful things, and it brings me great joy to share some of the things I find and see, here, in this newsletter, with you.
Free subscribers to Foxside get one newsletter per month, some previews of the newsletters that go to paid subscribers.
I know there are a million great Substacks to choose from, so no pressure! But if you’re interested, here are some of the things that paying subscribers to Foxside get:
Four newsletters per month and access to the full archive of Foxside newsletters.
Covet: Curations of home goods like table lamps or tableware (mostly unique or vintage, always design-forward and never from Amazon).
Good spots: Highlights from some of my favorite places to visit, where to stay, what to eat and what to do.
Whether free, paid or just poking around, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here!
-Morrigan
